LEVEL 1

  1. Discuss the difference of being educated and being “schooled”.

  2. Discuss common problems of public education.

  3. Discuss key tenants of Amos Wilson’s philosophy on education, schooling, and intelligence.

LEVEL 2 [Grade 9]

Participants will able to:

  1. Discuss the shifts over time in education policies and practices, from slavery, reconstruction, civil rights up through present day.

  2. Discus how education has traditionally been tied to wealth, and how that has changed over time.

  3. Discuss social determinants of health, wealth, and wellness.

LEVEL 3 [Grade 10]

Participants will be able to:

  1. Present facts supporting the historical purpose of public schooling in the U.S., key historical events, and factors contributing to the present dilemma in public education.
